The Great Arts Alive Inc, Lucky-Dip, (sort-of) Secret-Santa – Inaugural, Annual and Gala – special Fundraising, Winter Formal, Instant-Exhibition …. thing (sic)

Do you want to be part of our next show? book this date in!

Thursday, 1st July, 2010, 6:30pm

It’s a combined fundraiser/moving away party and our last event at 178a Charles St.

The way it works is that Artsalive asks artists to donate a work, made on A5 sized canvas board (this is provided by us) and we ask you to donate it for the fundraiser. Everything will be for sale at $50 each (very very cheap considering some of the artists involved) and everything will be signed on the back so that the artists identity remains anonymous. If you don’t usually use canvas/board thats OK, as long as it can hang off this any medium is fine!

If you’re too busy to make a work or not an artist no prob, we need all the punters we can get! to pick up a great bargain but primarily to celebrate the great times had at 178a Charles St!

If you think you’re interested in making a work by the 1st of July please pop by the gallery to pick up a canvas board or e-mail me your postal address and I can send you one. Please invite anyone else you want to be involved.

It looks to be a great night with over 100 artists involved.

Jill Crawford and Simon Ancher

Opening Thursday 13th May, 6pm

Exhibition Dates 13th – 27th May

Jill Crawford presents a new body of work, continuing her investigations of the Tasmanian landscape through paint on recycled aluminium. Subtle and whimsical while rugged and permanent, the work speaks beautifully to Simon Ancher’s new furniture. Conscious of Jill’s materials, Simon has introduced metal elements within his timber pieces. Both artists have considered the Arts Alive gallery space in its feel and materiality and the work compliments the space just as much as each other’s practice.
